“ This is hands down my favorite place for sushi in DC. The happy hour is amazing, the cocktails are tasty, and every dish Ive ever had here has been delicious. Last time I was there I got the yellow tail sashimi, surf and turf, gyoza, crab roll, spicy salmon, and a cocktail. It was all fantastic. Its become one of the reasons I look forward to coming back to DC on work trips. ”

“ Went with friends last night to celebrate a birthday. Food is amazing fish is excellent quality and the flavor profile of every dish was done so well. Highly recommend the sugar and spice drink I did no sugar rim and it was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy and getting the Yuzu Fuego roll. Our table was helped by Lark and she was so kind when we were stuck on deciding between dishes and just so helpful and attentive. Excellent service thank you Lark!! , great food and just such a lovely evening. We had an amazing time and will be coming back again try more things from the menu. ”

“ What can I say? OKu is simply amazing. From the decor to the ambiance, service, and foodeverything was wonderful. It has officially earned a spot on my list of favorite places. We had a fantastic time exploring a variety of menu items while soaking in enjoying the inviting atmosphere. Here are my reflections Environment OKu is a beautiful restaurant with a romantic, sophisticated ambiance. Its perfect for dates or dinner with friends. There is a bar close by the entrance, with additional dining space in the same area and as you move further through the restaurant. Theres even more seating around the corner and they have rooftop space, adding versatility to the venue. The dim lighting and dope design create a cozy and elegant vibe. I love the scene its both relaxing and well suited to set the tone for a wonderful evening. Service The service was amazing. As firsttime visitors, we truly appreciated how attentive and knowledgeable our server was. She walked us through the menu and gave fantastic great recommendations for both food and drinks. Everything ran smoothly which was refreshing and added to the overall enjoyable experience. Food The food was AMAZING delicious and full of flavor. The standouts for me included the firecracker roll, the charred broccolini, the snow king and the crunch prawn roll all delightful and bursting with incredible taste. Even the mushrooms, which I dont typically enjoy, were surprisingly good. The Yakitori Chicken was solid but not something Id rush to order again, while the dumpling dim sum hit the spot. The food exceeded our expectations and I cant wait to return for my newfound favorites and try even more dishes. Overall OKu is wonderful. The ambiance is inviting, the service is excellent and the food is absolutely worth it. While its on the pricier side, its perfect for treat yourself moment or a special occasion. Its definitely at the top of my list and I will be back for more amazing sushi and great atmosphere. ”

“ Superb dining experience here last night. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor, expertly presented, and highly differentiated. Service could have been a bit more polished, but it didnt take much away from the overall experience. The venue is modern, spacious, and filled with some vibrant art pieces. We had the following dishes Toro Tartare avocado, soy, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, chips pricy for the portion but each tender bite makes you forget the bite ratio. Dumpling Dim Sum crispy pork gyoza dumplings, black vinegar garlic soy probably some of the best dumplings Ive had. The flavor of the black vinegar and garlic soy really shines through, and the pork quality was excellent. Citrus Kai shrimp, scallop, yuzumiso butter small but high flavor per bite, and the presentation with shrimp wrapping around the scallop was creative. Only two scallops and shrimp, FYI. Sticky Ribs hoisin honey bbq, shiso chimichurri not overly sweet, these ribs just fall of the bone and every bite was heaven. Unagi San avocado wrapped, broiled eel, cucumber, serrano, crunchy onion, eel sauce, spicy tobiko this specialty roll was perfect, the ratio of ingredients well balanced, and the spicy habanero tobiko was a nice touch. Firecracker Roll crispy tempura fried, spicy salmon, cucumber, avocado, serrano, tobiko, sweet soy glaze a richer roll for sure because its fried, but still with a lot of distinctive flavor. Our cocktails were good but not on the same level as the food. Service was friendly, and food came out at a good pace but there was a little room for improvement. Ice was spilled on the table when serving water and the ice cube was picked up but a puddle was left should have been dried up. Plates were put down a bit rushed and unevenly, on top of the existing plates. Fresh plates between courses when the existing plates were filling up with the refuse from prior courses would have been welcome. Overall, an excellent experience and will look forward to returning and trying more of this vibrant menu. ”

“ We ordered the okamase 150pp and it has 7 courses. The dishes are in the photos, but mostly are nigiri and sashimi, so if you cant eat raw food I wouldnt recommend. Otherwise, it is such an amazing experience. The food was delicately displayed and the fish quality is amazing. I just cannot describe it. You just have to try it for yourself! ”

“ I came here for happy hour and everything from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere was quite good. I tried all of the happy hour sushi rolls which ranged from 1012. My favorites were the snow king and the tuna tataki roll. Theres also some happy hour appetizers but we didnt try those this time around. For drinks, the first 3 drinks on the menu were 3 off for happy hour bringing the drinks to 1011. The drinks were quite good too. Ill definitely be back soon! ”
